Abstract Submission Details

Please submit an abstract (limited to one page) describing your case presentation, quality improvement project, or research project by January 15, 2027, to Grace Riley at grace@molobby.com.

​

The abstract should be submitted as a Word document or PDF and include:

​

• Title

• References

• Authors

• Your role (fellow, resident, medical student, or anesthesiologist assistant student)

• Faculty mentor

• Academic institution

• Brief Abstract:

  • For case reports, write a brief summary of the case and clinical importance.

  • For a research abstract, submit a structured abstract including Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

  • For quality improvement projects, submit an unstructured abstract describing the project.

  • A figure, table, or image may be included for research posters.

• When submitting your abstract, please indicate whether you would like to be considered for the Oral Presentation Competition or to participate in the Poster Exhibition.

 

All accepted presenters will be notified by January 22, 2027, and informed whether they have been selected to present during the Annual Meeting. Those who indicated interest in the Oral Presentation Competition will also be notified if they were selected to compete.

Please note: All abstracts will be reviewed for inclusion in the MSA Annual Meeting. If your abstract is not selected for the competition, you may still be invited to present during the Poster Exhibition.

 

Final Presentation Submission

For Competition Presentations:

​

All competition presentations must be submitted prior to arrival at the MSA meeting. Please email final presentations to grace@molobby.com by February 12, 2027. Your presentation should be a single-slide PowerPoint presentation.

​

For Exhibition Posters:

​

Presenters not participating in the competition must print and bring their own posters to display during the meeting. We request that these posters fit on a 36” x 48” tri-fold poster board, which MSA will provide.

 

Oral Presentation Competition

​

When: Saturday, February 27, 10:00–11:35 am
Where: Le Méridien St. Louis Clayton, Saint Louis, MO

​

Each presenter will have five minutes to present, followed by three minutes of questions from the proctors.

​

The student winner, resident/fellow winner, and overall winner will be announced at 1:15 pm. The overall winner will also receive a $300 gift card!

 

Poster Exhibition

​

If you are not entering the competition, you are still encouraged to share your work! Exhibition posters will be displayed throughout the meeting, including during the lunch session and a break.

​

Please note:

• Abstracts should still be submitted following the same process and deadline of January 15, 2027.

• Exhibition presenters must print and bring their own posters to display at the meeting.
